GPS tracker is a highly efficient device, which can be hidden in the hive to effectively protect against theft. If the hive is moved, the BeeHive GPS tracker will send an SMS alarm to your mobile phone. After this first SMS alarm, GPS is notifying the beekeeper of the current GPS coordinates every 2 minutes via SMS and thereby indicating the current position of the hive. Other time intervals are individually adjustable via SMS.
It is a small and compact device that can be placed anywhere in the hive. For better protection, it is best to place it inside the hive under the frame to keep it well hidden. Device dimensions: 80x80x28 mm. Before installation, a SIM card must be inserted inside the device. It can work with any SIM card provider in the world, as long as it is Micro-SIM.
Battery can last up to 10 years in sleep mode and can be charged at any time via USB (type B) cable. Charging time cca. 6 hours. Device will also send SMS to inform about the battery status.
Use on every 10 or 20 hives is often enough to prevent thieves. In most cases, they steal half or all of the hives from the apiary. Also, it is best to place the GPS tracker in some of the best hives from the apiary.
